Description: Involving local people in planning and development issues is a bedrock principle of the planning profession. This training session provides an overview of the range of participatory planning methods available, and it equips participants with the practical ability to devise a participatory community planning strategy for their own situation. Class participants will gain:
• An understanding of the conceptual framework including Principles, Methods & Scenarios
• The ability to plan an engagement strategy with other stakeholders for any development situation
• The ability to help others to plan an engagement strategy for any development situation
• The ability to use internet resources including communityplanning.net to find further information and assistance.
This course is particularly valuable for engagement practitioners who work on development/redevelopment (sometimes referred to as "regeneration") projects.
